The Paper Studio

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray."

-Rumi

Slowly made by hand from reclaimed paper and garden flowers.

This is the making corner of The Blooming Desk, where old paper is torn up, soaked, and pressed back into paper, sculpture, and vessel, often with a petal or a seed caught inside. Less a shop than a small practice in slowing down: the quiet pleasure of making something real, and giving ordinary things meaning.

Because the objects around us shape how we feel, everything here is made or chosen to be touched, used and lived with, not just looked at.

The first papers are in the making. Right now I’m deep in experiments – testing pulp, colour and which flowers from the garden survive the press. The first editions – handmade paper, pressed-flower pieces, sculpture and vessels – are coming, made in tiny batches. Join the list for a first sight of them.
